The Beach | Conway, Arkansas Photographer

We just returned from a week long stay in Gulf Shores, Alabama. I had planned on getting a variety of different shots of the beach and sky, but my plan didn’t work out. It stormed a lot while we were there, so I didn’t get my camera out near as often I would have liked. I did take it to the pier one evening and managed to grab this shot in between rain drops.

We visit Memphis often as a part of routine checkups on some of my son’s conditions as a result of his cerebral palsy. We’ve never really had any downtime before, so on our latest visit, we used the time to visit the Memphis Zoo. We’d heard so much about it, we were determined to have our own look! And although we were on our feet and going for several hours, we still didn’t get to see all of the animals that were out and about. But of the ones we did see, here is a glimpse:

I don’t normally do sneak peeks on my blog, but I’m making an exception this [maybe] one time since these are three of my most favorite little people. They are the children of some of our best friends and wonderful playmates of my boys. Little Neely in the front made me work hard for her genuine smile, so I was pretty excited to run across this one in the proofing process.

What’s the most common size for photo orders? You guessed it! The old stand-by, the 8 x 10. I myself was once a lover of 8 x 10′s, but as I’ve looked at my walls in my house these last few years, I’ve decided that showing off my beautiful boys requires more than eight by ten inches. The same goes for all of my clients! In order to showcase stunning photos of your families, I offer many options for mounted enlargements and gallery wrapped canvases.

A large wall in any living space can easily dwarf a small print, and therefore take the emphasis off of your beautiful loved ones. The above example is an 8 x 10 print placed over a standard sized fireplace. The print is easily lost in all of the wall space. Next, we have a 16 x 24, which is definitely better, but is still outweighed by the fireplace and could use a little oompfh to get the WOW factor:

My last example is a 30 x 40 print. With this large size, the canvas becomes the focus (and hence, the kids), while the fireplace moves into the background.

Consider upgrading to large wall prints. It’s the perfect way to draw the viewer’s eye away from empty wall space and onto the faces of your family and loved ones!

Kaylen is the niece of one of my oldest and dearest friends and the last time I saw her, she was maybe ten years old. Needless to say, I was surprised to meet an elegant young woman on the day of our session! I love the results of her session, especially the classic black and whites.
